📷TheHonestTruth 5.0 out of 5 stars Virgin oil analysis shows to be excellent product
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 2, 2012
Verified Purchase A virgin oil analysis was posted on a major blog of this 100% synthetic engine oil. Shows to be of very high quality with an excellent additive package. This product is a GF-4 & GF-5 certified product. I'm not one to go off and try something for the hell of it much anymore. The report showing exactly what you are getting. By Blackstone, a major independent laboratory is proof positive by all standards applied to engine oils. It is superior to full and fully "synthetic" marketed in the USA. Why not buy it if is in many cases actually more reasonably priced and is proven to be superior? Not just advertising, truly somewhat better. Been a Mobil 1 user for years. Recently discovered that Mobil 1 is in fact not a 100% synthetic product anymore, nor is any other "full synthetic" labeled in America. Group III base stocks are still very good when highly refined, but still don't have the qualities of Group IV & V base stocks. Check it out for yourself. 17 people found this helpful Helpful Report

Verified Purchase Use this on my 2006 CBR600RR, the motorcycle runs fine and it starts better in the cold. I change my oil regularly around 2500 to 3000 miles.
This is THE best price for full synthetic motorcycle oil that I found over dozen websites.
This is my first time use this product, I will update this review after 3000 miles.

I change my oil after every race (in the race bikes) and every time I do, it looks like it doesn't need to be changed. My bike always runs smooth and clean and with no leak issues.

Inspection of bearings and gears showed minimal wear after extreme use in 100+ degree racing environments. Verified Purchase I usually use syn oil since you can go a bit longer between changes before it starts to breakdown. I just changed the oil and after 1k miles in our 2002 Mazda MPV van (125k miles) it still looks brand new. I usually use Mobile 1 so I'm curious to see how it holds up compared to one of the top rated oils out there. If it can give 90% of what Mobile 1 does, I'll be very happy. At different miles I not only check the oil itself but keep an eye on mileage and how the vehicle is performing. Standard oil (Castrol type) usually starts to fade around 4k miles with Mobile 1 usually giving me 8-10k. This holds true in my 2001 Toyota Tundra also. Going to change the oil in it with the Texas Tea this weekend to see how it is. Giving it 5 stars for now based on the price only. If the van and the truck can go 7k or so on it, I'll keep the rating. If it starts fading around the same time as conventional oils, then I'll drop it to a 1 since no use in paying a premium for syn oil if it doesn't hold up longer.

Verified Purchase I own a 2010 Kia Sedona minivan and a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. I bought two cases of this oil and so far had it put into the Kia. This is my first experience with synthetic oil and my reason for trying it is to get better protection because we do a lot of short distance driving. Driving away from my mechanic's shop I immediately noticed a smoothness about the engine/tranny that was not there before. I did not pay what I consider to be a lot for this oil so I don't think its psychological, the engine really continues to feel smoother to me and the tranny is shifting a lot smoother, too. The van has a big, coarse engine, so any improvement would be noticeable and so far I'm very happy with the performance. I'm curious to see if the MPG's improve and will update this review to include info on that.
Update: 10/7/12; Engine still running smoother than before, but after one tank of gas MPG exactly the same. Synthetic oil is not some magic potion that's going to lead to higher MPG, but I'm still happy with the product just because the engine and tranny have been so much smoother.
📷TheHonestTruth 5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain for 100% synthetic oil
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 19, 2012 Size: 6 Bottles/ Each 1 US Quart
Verified Purchase Product is a bargain in cost for a API certified 100% synthetic motor oil. Major brands labeled as "full synthetic" such a Mobil 1 and Castrol Syntec are just that... A non 100% synthetic motor oil. After a court battle, in the USA a motor oil that labels itself full synthetic DOES NOT have the requirement to be 100% sythetic. In Europe and Japan motor oil are required to be 100% synthetic in make up to be labeled synthetic. Mobil 1 and others selling their products in these other countries have a different makeup that IS 100% synthetic. But the off the shelf "Full Synthetic" motor oil in the USA is Not 100% synthetic. That is a fact all consumers in the USA should be aware of. Most people as well as I have been purchasing products that we believed were 100% synthetic which in fact are not or required to be in the USA. They are still good, but are not the original formulas that they once were. Do some research on this topic and it is easy to see. 8 people found this helpful Helpful Report

The engine seems to be quieter, and I have also noticed an increase in fuel mileage by about 1 mile per gallon. Out of curiosity I checked the Amsoil website and compared the Texas Tea 5W-20 to the Amsoil Signature 5W-20. The Texas Tea is the same as Amsoil signature oil at half the price. Amsoil $10.15 per Quart, and Texas Tea $5.00 a quart. At this price this will be the oil I use in all my cars from now on. 6 people found this helpful Helpful Report

Verified Purchase I had heard about Texas Tea Synthetic Oil and I am very happy with the results. It is a API rated oil, at a great price. It is also a real 100% synthetic oil. I waited to give the review after using the oil in my 2007 FJ and My wife's 2010 Armada. I had been using Pennzoil Ultra, which I love and still think is a great oil. But the Texas Tea has been in for about 1500 miles in my FJ and it feels smoother. The only downside I can see right now is the oil bottle. It looks to be a late 80s early 90s refuge. The cap does not comes off on all the bottle unless you yank it off and then spill oil. I can look past that for the quality and the price being so well. I think in another 3500 miles when I change it I will know for sure what the results are. Great true 100% USA made API rated Synthetic oil. 4 people found this helpful Helpful Report

Well today was that day. I changed the oil on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma TRD with this stuff and I immediately noticed the truck runs much quieter. It looks to be a great oil but I am not happy that the price has gone up almost 20% since I bought it. Prices for crude have plummeted in world markets why is this going up?
